This support solution will walk you through setting up a Google Drive folder and how to upload video recordings to this folder.
This tutorial is split into two parts, the first will guide you through creating a Google Drive folder to store these recordings and the second will walk you through how to upload the recordings to this folder.
PART 1 - Creating Google Drive folder
*If you've already created a folder in Google Drive for your course, proceed to Part 2
Step 1: Visit https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive
Step 2: In the top left corner, click + New then select the "Folder" option
Step 3: In the window that appears type the name of the folder (if this is for a specific course we recommend naming it something like LAW 102-1 Class Videos) and then click "Create"
You have successfully created the folder where you will be storing your recordings, continue to part two for instructions on how to upload recordings to this folder.
PART 2 - Uploading video recordings to Google Drive folder
Step 1: Visit https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive
Step 2: Find the folder you created in Part 1 and double click to open it
Step 3: To add files to the Google Drive folder you have two options
3A. With the Google Drive folder open simply find the recording file that has been saved to your computer (On your desktop, in your documents folder, etc.) and then drag and drop it into the Google Drive window, be sure to use a .MP4 file when uploading videos
Note: You can drag and drop multiple files at once
3B. In the top left corner select the "New" button and select the "File upload" option, this will launch a navigation window where you can locate the recording file on your computer, select it, and then choose the "Open" option to upload the recording to this Google Drive folder,
be sure to use a .MP4 file when uploading videos
Note: You can select and upload multiple files at once
Step 4: To add additional recordings to this folder simply repeat step 3
Step 5 [Optional]: If you would like to secure your recordings within Google Drive to ensure those with viewer access can not download the file directly you can follow the steps in our Securing Recording File in Google Drive support solution
At this point, you have successfully uploaded your recording(s) to Google Drive. You can now return to our Recording and posting course videos walkthrough for additional guidance.
