The following support solution will provide guidance on how to enable the "Kaltura My Media" navigation menu within a Canvas course. By enabling this navigation menu you will be able to easily access the Kaltura suite to create, edit, and manage content directly within that Canvas course.
You can also utilize this support solution to enable the "Kaltura Media Gallery" navigation menu within a Canvas course. Simply follow the steps below and select the "Kaltura Media Gallery" option in place of "Kaltura My Media" in step 5.
Step 1: Go to https://canvas.wfu.edu/ and use the "Log Into Canvas" button in the top right corner to access Canvas
Step 2: Find and select the course in which you would like to enable the Kaltura "My Media" navigation menu
To access the "Kaltura My Media" menu in other Canvas courses you will have to repeat the following steps within each of them to enable the navigation menu
Step 3: Once in the course select the "Settings" menu item on the left-hand side
Step 4: Once in the settings menu you will select the "Navigation" tab
Step 5: In the navigation settings scroll to the bottom list and find the "Kaltura My Media" tool, you may either click and hold on the menu item to drag and drop it into the list above or you may click the three dots to the right of the menu item and select the "Enable" option to add it to your active navigation items for this course.
When accessing your course you will now see "Kaltura My Media" listed as a standard menu item which will give you access to the Kaltura application right within your Canvas course
Again, to access the "Kaltura My Media" menu in other Canvas courses you will have to repeat steps 3 through 5 to enable the "My Media" navigation menu for each of them. You may also repeat these steps and select the "Kaltura Media Gallery" menu to make that available in your course navigation.
Step 6: Return to the Kaltura: Using via Canvas Walkthrough for additional guidance on how to utilize the Kaltura media tools that are now accessible via that "Kaltura My Media" menu within your Canvas course
You have now enabled the "Kaltura My Media" menu within your Canvas course, you may now refer back to the Kaltura: Using via Canvas Walkthrough for additional guidance on how to access and begin recording/managing your Kaltura content.
