Setting Automatic Recording for an individual meeting or Personal Meeting Room
If having automatic recording enabled for all meetings is not your preferred option you can leave that setting turned off at the account level and simply turn it on for individual meetings you schedule on a case by case basis. You can also use these instructions to turn on automatic recording for all meetings that you use your "Personal Meeting Room" for.
Step 1: Go to your "Meetings" section
Step 2: Select "Schedule a Meeting" or hover over the meeting title of a future meeting previously scheduled under the "Upcoming Meetings" and click the "Edit" button that appears
*Note: To select your "Personal Meeting Room" click on the "Personal Meeting Room" tab and then select the "Edit" button at the bottom of those settings
Step 3: Under "Meeting Options" check "Automatically record meeting"
Step 4: Click Save
Enable Automatic Recording as default for all future scheduled meetings
Step 1: Sign in to the Wake Forest University Zoom web portal and click on the "Settings" option in the left-hand menu
Step 2: Navigate to the Recording tab and verify that the Automatic Recording setting is enabled. If the setting is disabled, click the Status toggle to enable it
Step 3: Select Record on the local computer or Record in the cloud, based on your preference, we recommend recording to the cloud
Step 4: Click "Save" to store these settings
*Note: If you have turned on automatic recording in your Meeting Settings, it will be set for any meetings that you schedule going forward. It will not apply to existing meetings or your Personal Meeting ID. You will need to enable it for these meetings individually.
You have now successfully updated your automatic recording settings in Zoom. If you have additional questions or run into issues with any portion of this process you may reach out to us at lawhelp@wfu.edu or 336-758-4300.
