All students enrolled in the JD, LLM, and SJD degree programs at Wake Forest Law are required to have a laptop computer running the current version or two previous versions of macOS or Windows. The device must meets the minimum system requirements included below. There are separate computer requirements for the online MSL degree and certificate programs.

We highly recommend updating your web browser to the current version. Other web browsers and older versions of the web browsers listed above may work but are not officially supported.
Exam Software
Your law school exams as well as the Bar Exam in many jurisdictions, including North Carolina, are administered using ExamSoft Examplify.
Our minimum requirements for computers (see above) are based largely on their minimum system requirements. The practice exam you will take during Foundations Week is intended to familiarize you with this software and ensure that your computer is compatible with the software.
Notes
Chromebooks are not supported
iPads and other tablets are not supported
You must have administrator privileges on your computer
You must have a licensed version of the operating system
Virtualization software may not be used to run the operating system
While computers running other operating systems (e.g., Chromebooks) may be sufficient for completing your coursework, the Examplify software used for law school exams is only compatible with specific versions of macOS and Windows.
