These requirements apply to all students enrolled in the MSL program as of August 2023. Computer requirements are reviewed and updated annually in April. Please note that there are separate computer requirements for on-campus (JD, LLM, and SJD) degree programs.
Minimum Requirements
Students are required to have access to a laptop or desktop computer that meets the following requirements:
- Supported operating system (see below)
- Supported web browser (see below)
- Speakers and/or headphones
- Microphone
- Webcam
- Reliable internet access
Supported Operating Systems:
- Windows 10, version 22H2 or newer
- macOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer
While it may be possible to complete much of your coursework with a tablet or other mobile device, only laptop or desktop computers that meet the minimum requirements are officially supported.
Supported Web Browsers:
The two most recent versions of the following web browsers are supported:
- Edge (Windows only)
- Safari (Mac only)

We highly recommend updating your web browser to the current version. Other web browsers and older versions of the web browsers listed above may work but are not officially supported.
Computer Discounts
While students may use any computer which meets the minimum requirements, students who plan to purchase a new computer are eligible for discounted pricing from Apple and Lenovo.
